The Workbench runs on a Windows 11 computer. There is no cloud application server, automatic reporting, online activation check, automatic content download, or in-app updater. The application sends no data to the vendor automatically, checks no activation online and performs no self-update.

Nothing reports back.

What that does and does not mean

No data is sent to the vendor automatically; information can still leave through user handoffs, backups, synchronization, malware, shared access or forensic tools.

Encrypted local storage

Matter Vault encrypts local storage; it is not a records system or an off-computer backup.

How builds are delivered

Updates are complete reviewed builds delivered through IT. We have not bought a code-signing certificate, so Windows will warn that the publisher is unknown. IT can still confirm that the file has not been altered.

Independent testing

No independent third-party security assessment of the Workbench has been performed.
